Experienced General Teaching Assistant - Northolt (Ealing)

🕗 Full-Time | Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only

Schools in Northolt are seeking a General Teaching Assistant with at least 6-12 months of school-based experience to support teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 or 2 from September 2025.

About the Role:

This is a varied role supporting both whole-class teaching and targeted group interventions, working alongside experienced teachers in a structured and engaging classroom environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day lesson delivery and classroom routines

  • Leading small group interventions in phonics, reading, or numeracy (e.g. using Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle)

  • Supporting pupils with EAL, lower prior attainment, or mild additional needs

  • Encouraging engagement, independent learning, and positive behaviour

  • Assisting with classroom prep, displays, and admin tasks as required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • At least 6-12 months' experience in a UK primary school as a TA or Learning Support Assistant

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum at Key Stage 1 or 2

  • Confidence leading small groups and adapting activities for different learning styles

  • Experience supporting pupils with EAL, SEMH, or low attainment

  • Excellent spoken and written English and good numeracy skills

  • A calm, friendly and enthusiastic approach to learning
