What Does a Graduate Teaching Assistant Do?

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll be a vital part of the classroom team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting classroom teachers by working closely with students one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
• Promoting positive behaviour, encouraging engagement, and helping create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Providing tailored support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), or those requiring academic or emotional guidance.
• Assisting with lesson preparation, managing learning resources, setting up activities, maintaining displays, and contributing to student progress tracking.
• Actively participating in school life, including attending staff briefings, contributing to feedback on pupil progress, and supporting enrichment activities when needed.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in any subject (minimum requirement)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one), Overseas Police Check (if applicable), and two recent professional references
• A CV covering the last 10 years (where applicable)
• The legal right to work in the UK
