Learning Mentor - Secondary Schools - Newham

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentors to work across a number of secondary schools in Newham, starting in September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in overcoming barriers to learning and help them thrive both academically and personally.
📍 Role Details:
Location: Various secondary schools in Newham
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Duration: Full academic year (with potential for extension)
Salary: Competitive daily rate (based on experience)
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students struggling with behaviour, engagement, or personal challenges
Supporting students to develop positive learning habits, confidence, and motivation
Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and pastoral leads
Helping to implement individual learning and behaviour plans
Acting as a positive role model and mentor for students across year groups
✅ Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or mentoring capacity
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential
A relevant qualification or degree is desirable, but not essential
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
