Job Description
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with additional educational needs. This is a temporary to permanent position based at our partner primary school located in Bolton BL7. This position offers the opportunity to facilitate access to the curriculum through personalised support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide full-time, one-to-one support to the named pupil across class-based lessons, breaks, and lunch
- Work closely with the teacher and SENCO to implement the pupil's IEP and monitor progress
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to suit the pupil's specific needs
- Promote independence, positive behaviour, and emotional well-being
- Assist with personal care or sensory breaks, as needed
Ideal candidate
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience working 1:1 with pupils on the SEN register, ideally in a primary setting
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and observational skills
- Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
