Supporting Students with Complex Behavioural Needs

We're recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students who have additional needs including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You'll implement evidence-based interventions to support positive behaviour and learning outcomes.


The Role

Full-time

What You'll Do:

  • Build trusting relationships with students facing behavioural challenges
  • Implement individual behaviour support plans using de-escalation techniques
  • Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals
  • Create calm, structured learning environments

What We Need:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Commitment to safeguarding and flexible problem-solving mindset
  • Physical and emotional resilience

Desirable: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching qualification, behaviour management training (Team Teach/MAPA), SEN experience
