Supporting Students with Complex Behavioural Needs
We're recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students who have additional needs including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You'll implement evidence-based interventions to support positive behaviour and learning outcomes.
The Role
Full-time
What You'll Do:
- Build trusting relationships with students facing behavioural challenges
- Implement individual behaviour support plans using de-escalation techniques
- Support students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals
- Create calm, structured learning environments
What We Need:
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviour
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
- Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Commitment to safeguarding and flexible problem-solving mindset
- Physical and emotional resilience
Desirable: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching qualification, behaviour management training (Team Teach/MAPA), SEN experience
