A specialist Alternative Provision in Wellingborough is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2025. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in a role that combines academic support with behaviour mentoring.

The provision supports students aged 11-16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. These pupils often face complex emotional and behavioural challenges, and benefit from smaller class sizes, structured routines, and personalised interventions.

  • Assist in lesson delivery and classroom management across a range of subjects

  • Offer behaviour support and promote emotional self-regulation throughout the day

  • Help students develop confidence, resilience, and social skills

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, mentors, and support staff to implement personalised strategies

  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and respectful school environment

Who We're Looking For:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) - essential

  • Experience working with students with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in an alternative provision setting

  • Calm, patient, and consistent - especially in challenging situations

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • A team player who is committed, reflective, and passionate about student development

  • Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willingness to apply)

What You'll Receive:

  • A salary of £18,000-£20,000 depending on experience

  • A highly supportive team and leadership committed to staff development

  • Regular CPD and access to a wide range of accredited training resources

  • Clear progression routes into pastoral, SEN, or behaviour-based roles

  • The chance to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable young people

If you're ready to bring your experience, empathy, and energy to a setting where you're truly needed, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now to join the team in Wellingborough this October 2025 and help shape a better future for young people who need it most.
