Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with several progressive secondary schools in the Northampton area that are seeking a dedicated Sociology teacher to join their humanities department for the 2025/26 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young minds and help students engage with some of the most pressing social issues of our time.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for teaching Sociology at KS4 and KS5, delivering thought-provoking and engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate, and real-world application. You'll have the opportunity to shape a dynamic curriculum and foster students' curiosity about society, culture, and social change.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Encourage analytical thinking and structured debate in the classroom
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level assessments, ensuring excellent academic outcomes
Contribute to the wider humanities department and school community
Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports students of all backgrounds and abilities
Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
Has recent experience teaching Sociology in a UK secondary or post-16 setting
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for contemporary social issues
Is reflective, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement
Has excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teaching
