Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1)
Location: Romford, Havering - accessible by car with school parking and via local bus routes
Year Groups: Supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils with SEN
Hours: 8:30 - 15:15, term time only (Monday to Friday)
Pay: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming primary school in Havering, seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1). This role involves providing individualised support to pupils with complex SEN needs, including SEMH, ASD, and ADHD, enabling them to access learning and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and other SEN needs
Adapt learning tasks through differentiation to suit individual pupils
Implement behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Promote pupil independence and engagement in classroom activities
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress
Use of PECs, Makaton, or other communication systems (desirable)

Experience supporting children with complex SEN needs
Knowledge of differentiation and tailored learning strategies
Patience, resilience, and calmness under pressure
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nurturing, empathetic, and positive approach to building relationships
Adaptable, proactive, and reliable professional
TA Compliance Requirements
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two professional references covering the last two years
Up-to-date CV with full employment history
Relevant SEN experience in a school or childcare setting
