Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision - Northampton - Full-Time

Tradewind Recruitment Northampton is currently seeking resilient, adaptable, and committed Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist Alternative Provision (AP) setting in Northampton. This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday) for someone ready to provide meaningful support to students aged 11-16 who require a more tailored approach to learning.
About the role:
This Alternative Provision caters to students who have been excluded from mainstream education, many of whom present with behavioural challenges, complex needs, or gaps in academic progress. Your role as a TA will include supporting in the classroom, mentoring individuals or small groups, and encouraging positive behaviour. You'll work closely with experienced educators and pastoral teams who are committed to helping every student achieve their potential.
Ideal candidate:
Experience with challenging behaviour or youth work
Calm, confident and consistent approach
Able to build trust and rapport quickly
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Resilient, patient, and understanding of trauma-informed practice
