Teaching Assistant - SEND (Autism Focus) - Northampton - Immediate Start

Tradewind Recruitment Northampton is working closely with a specialist SEND school in Northampton that supports pupils aged 4-18 with Autism and associated communication difficulties. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their experienced team and help create an environment where every student can thrive.
The role:
As a Teaching Assistant within autism-specialist settings, you will provide individualised support to students in small class groups. You'll be working under the guidance of teachers and therapists to help students develop communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence. Many students follow a modified curriculum that focuses on life skills as much as academics.
What we're looking for:
Experience with ASD (personal, professional or voluntary)
A calm, empathetic and nurturing approach
Familiarity with visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies is desirable
Ability to follow EHCPs and support personal care if required
