School Cleaners - Morning & Evening Shifts - Blackpool Secondary School

Part-Time | Long-Term Contract

Rate of Pay: £13.69 per hour

Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025 (or sooner!)

A respected secondary school in Blackpool is looking for dedicated and reliable School Cleaners to join their facilities team. We have immediate vacancies available for individuals seeking consistent, part-time hours across split shifts, ensuring the school environment is clean, safe, and ready for pupils and staff.

The Role: Key Responsibilities and Hours

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the school site, contributing directly to a healthy learning environment.

  • Daily Cleaning Tasks: General cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning washrooms, classrooms, corridors, and communal areas.

  • Hygiene & Sanitation: Ensuring all cleaning duties are performed to a high standard, focusing on sanitation and infection control.

  • Compliance: Adhering to all health and safety regulations and school safeguarding policies.

Required Working Hours

This role requires a commitment to a split shift pattern, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday):

  • Morning Shift: 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM (2 hours)

  • Evening Shift: 3:15 PM - 7:15 PM (4 hours)

  • Total Weekly Hours: 30 hours per week

The Offer

  • Rate of Pay: £13.69 per hour.

  • Contract: Long-term contract (potential for permanent placement).

  • Location: Blackpool Secondary School.

  • Start Date: Monday 3rd November 2025, but we are eager for the right candidates to start sooner if available.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or a similar role is highly desirable, though full training will be provided.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential, particularly given the early morning start time.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to complete all tasks within the shift window.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and supporting the school's safeguarding policies.
