Behaviour Mentor - Southwark

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Southwark who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role offering the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people who need additional support.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students displaying social, emotional, or behavioural challenges-helping them to re-engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies. You'll collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to promote a calm, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural and emotional needs
Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and engagement
Build strong, trusting relationships that help students make positive choices
Contribute to a nurturing and consistent school environment
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or similar)
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Full-time availability and commitment to the role
