Teaching Assistants (various roles)

SANZA Teaching Agency are looking for passionate and experienced special needs teaching assistants for upcoming roles in Barking & Dagenham. From October half-term, we expect a large increase on the demand of teaching assistants across our schools and looking to recruit excellent candidates!

These rewarding roles will be starting in November and the focus will be on supporting pupils with Autism in their learning and development.

As a teaching assistant, you will:

  • Support students with Autism in both individual and group settings.
  • Follow and help implement each child's Educational Health care Plan (EHCP) and behaviour support strategies.
  • Encourage communication and language skills.
  • Use a range of alternative communication methods and assist in the development of speech and language
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to plan, adapt, and deliver learning tasks

About you:

  • Experienced in supporting children with Autism or other special educational needs.
  • Skilled in using pre-verbal communication methods and visual supports.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour, using calm and adaptable strategies.
  • Excellent communicator with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, patient, and flexible - you recognise that every child learns differently.
  • Resilient, proactive, and thrive in a busy, dynamic school setting.
