Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover (initially 2 terms, with potential extension)
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Wellingborough area to cover a maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and energetic teacher to inspire students and contribute to a well-established PE department known for its inclusive and engaging approach to sport and physical education.
About the Role
As the PE Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable).
Promote active participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among all students.
Contribute to extra-curricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities.
Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring all learners reach their potential.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards within the department.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
A passion for physical education and promoting student wellbeing.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
A flexible and proactive approach to supporting whole-school life.
