PE Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Secondary School - Wellingborough Area

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover (initially 2 terms, with potential extension)
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Wellingborough area to cover a maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and energetic teacher to inspire students and contribute to a well-established PE department known for its inclusive and engaging approach to sport and physical education.

About the Role

As the PE Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable).

  • Promote active participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among all students.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring all learners reach their potential.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards within the department.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level.

  • A passion for physical education and promoting student wellbeing.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting whole-school life.
