About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 4 Hair and Beauty Teacher to work in a SEN/alternative provision school in Northamptonshire. This role is perfect for professionals with industry experience who want to make a real difference by helping students with additional needs develop practical hair and beauty skills, confidence, and employability.

You will deliver tailored lessons that combine theory and practical skills, supporting students' learning at their own pace while fostering independence and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and accessible hair and beauty lessons for students with SEN.

  • Teach both practical and theoretical aspects of hairdressing, beauty therapy, and vocational skills.

  • Adapt lessons to meet individual student needs, supporting progress and confidence.

  • Assess and monitor student development, providing feedback to guide learning.

  • Prepare students for vocational qualifications, work placements, and potential careers.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.

  • Comply with all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.

Requirements

  • Level 4 Hair and Beauty qualification.

  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Industry experience in hair and beauty, with current knowledge of techniques and standards.

  • Experience or willingness to work with students with SEN or additional needs.

  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Tradewind Recruitment).
