SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term - Southwark Secondary School

Start Date: Immediate | Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term | Pay: Competitive (via PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Southwark. This full-time, long-term role is available for an immediate start, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You'll work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions, promote inclusion, and help students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN across a range of subjects

  • Assist in delivering individual learning plans and behaviour strategies

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based or similar)

  • Knowledge or experience of supporting students with SEN

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and a patient, proactive approach
