Science Technician - Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a supportive mainstream secondary school in Southwark seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their team immediately. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to support a thriving science department and contribute to an engaging, hands-on learning environment.
As a Science Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You'll work closely with teachers to prepare experiments, maintain lab equipment, and ensure that all health and safety standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons 
- Support teachers and students during experiments and demonstrations 
- Maintain and organise laboratory resources, ensuring safety procedures are followed 
- Assist with stock control and ordering of materials 
- Help create a stimulating and well-managed science environment 
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory setting (desirable but not essential) 
- Strong interest in science and education 
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
