SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Greenwich
Start: Immediate | Full-Time | Long-Term

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Greenwich that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This full-time, long-term role is available for an immediate start.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) both in class and through small group or one-to-one sessions. You'll work closely with teachers and the SEN department to ensure that every student can access learning, develop confidence, and make sustained progress in an inclusive environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students engage in lessons and achieve their learning goals.

  • Assist teachers in adapting lesson materials and classroom activities to suit individual needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development through consistent, supportive guidance.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEND (school-based or similar).

  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to learning support.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
