Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in a primary school setting in Bolton. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised support, enabling the child to access the curriculum, engage in class activities, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with SEN, adapting learning tasks as needed
  • Support the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Encourage independence and participation in all aspects of school life

Person Specification

  • Experience working 1:1 with children, preferably with additional needs
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to inclusion and helping children achieve their potential
  • Flexible and reliable, with a proactive approach to support
