Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Northampton, seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher for a full-time role starting ASAP or January 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, deliver engaging lessons, and take your first steps toward a rewarding teaching career-all while helping students develop their confidence in reading, writing, and communication.

The Role:

  • Deliver structured and engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with support from experienced teachers

  • Use pre-prepared materials to guide lessons and contribute to curriculum delivery

  • Provide small group and one-to-one literacy support for students who need extra help

  • Encourage positive classroom behaviour and support overall student engagement

  • Work collaboratively with the English department and take part in reading clubs or enrichment activities

Who We're Looking For:

  • A recent English graduate or someone with strong subject knowledge (e.g. English Language, Literature, Creative Writing)

  • A confident communicator with a genuine passion for education and language

  • Someone aspiring to gain teaching experience before pursuing QTS or further training

  • Organised, resilient, and professional, with a proactive approach to learning

  • Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, or youth work) is highly desirable
