Construction Tutor: Inspire the Next Generation (Workshop & Classroom)

Full-Time / Permanent | Location: Blackpool| Sector: Vocational Education & Training | Salary: Up to £30k.

Are you a skilled Construction professional ready to transition your industry expertise into a rewarding Tutor role? Do you hold a Level 3 qualification in a trade like Bricklaying, Carpentry, or Multi-Skills and have a passion for teaching?

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Tutor to join our Vocational Education team. This vital role involves planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality training both in the workshop and the classroom, helping learners achieve their City & Guilds/NOCN qualifications and secure employment in the industry.

Key Responsibilities & Impact

  • Expert Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across core Construction trades (e.g., plastering, plumbing, painting & decorating) in line with awarding body standards.

  • Practical Skills: Provide expert practical demonstrations and ensure learners develop safe and effective working techniques in the workshop.

  • Assessment & Progress: Conduct accurate formative and summative assessments (TAQA/A1 experience desirable), manage learner portfolios, and track progress effectively.

  • Holistic Development: Integrate Functional Skills (Maths & English) and promote employability skills, British Values, and positive behaviour management.

  • Safety & Safeguarding: Maintain high standards of Health & Safety in the learning environment and adhere strictly to all safeguarding procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

CriteriaDetail
Occupational ExpertiseLevel 3 or higher qualification in a relevant trade (e.g., Bricklaying, Joinery, Plastering) and current, relevant industry experience.
Teaching QualificationLevel 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent, OR a strong commitment to achieve this qualification with our support.
SkillsExcellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
AttributesEnthusiastic, patient, motivational, and proactive approach to supporting learners with varied backgrounds/needs (including SEND).
