Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a number of welcoming and high-achieving secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced classroom supervisors looking to gain valuable experience in secondary education.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set work, and ensure that students remain focused, engaged, and on task throughout the lesson. This is an exciting and varied position that allows you to experience a wide range of school environments while supporting pupils' learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising students in the absence of their usual class teacher
Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies
Encouraging positive attitudes to learning and participation
Providing feedback to teaching staff about pupil progress and behaviour
Building rapport with pupils and fostering a safe, respectful learning environment

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who are:
Confident, organised, and capable of managing a classroom environment
Passionate about supporting young people and promoting positive behaviour
Adaptable and able to think on their feet in a fast-paced setting
Educated to degree level (or have relevant classroom experience)
Interested in a future career in teaching or education support
Previous experience working with young people, whether in a school, sports coaching, tutoring, or youth work setting, would be highly beneficial. Full training and ongoing support are provided.
