Contract Type: Full-Time (5 days per week)

Are you a creative, hands-on individual with a passion for Art and Design Technology? Do you enjoy supporting young people in developing their artistic and technical skills? We are seeking an enthusiastic Art / DT Technician to join inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Sutton.

About the Role

As an Art / DT Technician, you'll play a key role in assisting teachers and students across the Art and Design Technology departments. Your work will ensure that lessons run smoothly, resources are prepared to a high standard, and students have the tools and environment they need to explore their creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for Art and DT lessons

  • Support teachers in practical lessons, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld

  • Assist students with the use of workshop tools, art materials, and creative equipment

  • Maintain tidy, well-organised classrooms and storage areas

  • Support the setup and display of student artwork and projects

  • Contribute to the smooth running of the department through administrative and technical support

About You

  • A practical, creative mindset with an eye for detail

  • Confidence working with a range of tools, materials, and equipment (training can be provided)

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people's learning and creativity

  • Previous experience in a similar role or an Art/DT background is advantageous
