Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (KS2)
Location: Haringey, London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm)
Pay: £90-£100 per day (PAYE)

A supportive and welcoming primary school in Haringey is searching for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role offers you the chance to help pupils with special educational needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to implement IEPs and targeted interventions.

  • Adapt classroom materials and activities to ensure learning is meaningful and accessible.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and growing independence.

  • Support pupils with communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs.

  • Help maintain an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.

  • Observe and record pupil progress, feeding back to staff and families when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in SEND or KS1/KS2 environments.

  • Good knowledge of autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other learning differences.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a calm and empathetic approach.

  • A genuine commitment to helping children reach their full potential.
