SEN Teaching Assistant

A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This long-term role runs until July 2026 and offers valuable experience working with a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 and group support for students with SEN
  * Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
  * Assisting with behaviour support and classroom routines
  * Monitoring student progress and contributing to SEN reviews
  * Promoting inclusion across the school

What we're looking for:

• SEN experience (school or youth setting) is helpful but not essential
  * Strong communication skills, empathy, and patience
  * A proactive individual with a genuine interest in supporting young people
  * Awareness of safeguarding practices
