Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School (KS3 - Personal Care Support)

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in the classroom? Tradewind is currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school, providing essential in-class support to a KS3 girl who requires additional help with her learning as well as personal care support throughout the school day.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support to a KS3 student with additional needs. This includes helping her access the curriculum, promoting independence, and offering personal care where required. This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a meaningful difference to her school experience and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 in-class support, helping the student engage with learning tasks
Delivering small-group or one-to-one interventions as directed by the SENCO
Supporting the student with her specific needs, which may include physical, medical, or developmental challenges
Providing personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and mobility assistance, in line with her care plan
Helping the student build confidence, self-esteem, and independence
Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiated tasks
Maintaining accurate records and supporting student support plans
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with young people in a school or care/support setting
Personal care experience is essential
A caring, patient, and child-centred approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to follow teacher direction and work effectively within a team
Basic IT skills and good organisational ability
A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
