Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Secondary School (KS3 - Personal Care Support)
Location: Wirral
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in the classroom? Tradewind is currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school, providing essential in-class support to a KS3 girl who requires additional help with her learning as well as personal care support throughout the school day.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support to a KS3 student with additional needs. This includes helping her access the curriculum, promoting independence, and offering personal care where required. This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a meaningful difference to her school experience and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 in-class support, helping the student engage with learning tasks

  • Delivering small-group or one-to-one interventions as directed by the SENCO

  • Supporting the student with her specific needs, which may include physical, medical, or developmental challenges

  • Providing personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and mobility assistance, in line with her care plan

  • Helping the student build confidence, self-esteem, and independence

  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and differentiated tasks

  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting student support plans

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people in a school or care/support setting

  • Personal care experience is essential

  • A caring, patient, and child-centred approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to follow teacher direction and work effectively within a team

  • Basic IT skills and good organisational ability

  • A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
