This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact in a supportive, community-focused school. You will be providing 1:1 support to pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping children with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential-academically, socially, and emotionally.

The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, nurturing environment, and dedicated staff team who work collaboratively to provide the very best support for their pupils. They are looking for someone who shares their enthusiasm, compassion, and commitment to helping every child thrive.

Your Key Responsibilities

As the school's SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2

  • Deliver targeted interventions tailored to each child's individual needs

  • Support children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning delays, SEMH needs, or other additional requirements

  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through clear, patient and creative strategies

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans

  • Use visual supports, scaffolding, structured routines and differentiated resources

  • Promote children's social, emotional and behavioural development

  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning habits

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and progress meetings

  • Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have experience working with SEND pupils (in a primary, secondary, or specialist SEND school)

  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient

  • Have a strong understanding of additional needs and how to support them effectively

  • Be confident delivering interventions and supporting personalised learning

  • Be enthusiastic, proactive and able to adapt quickly

  • Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about inclusion, enjoys working closely with children, and is excited to help shape a child's educational journey.
