Pay Rate: £100-£170 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)

A secondary school in Northampton is looking to appoint a dedicated Physics Instructor to join their team from January 2026. This role offers an excellent opportunity to teach Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to A-Level Physics, in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured and engaging Physics lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 where applicable)

  • Support lesson planning and adapt materials to meet different learning needs

  • Explain complex scientific concepts in clear, practical, and relatable ways

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Implement behaviour management strategies consistently and confidently

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities

Who We're Looking For

  • Graduates in Physics, Engineering, or related Science fields

  • Individuals with experience delivering or supporting Physics lessons (in schools, tutoring, outreach, or training settings)

  • Confident communicators with strong presentation and classroom management skills

  • Passionate educators eager to inspire curiosity and develop learners' understanding of Physics

  • Candidates open to exploring formal teacher training routes (PGCE, SCITT, or QTS Apprenticeships)

  • Applicants with an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
