Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - 1:1 Support - KS1 - ASD
Full-Time | Camden Primary School | Immediate Start
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school based in Camden.
About the Role
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child's academic, social, and emotional development. The role involves adapting learning activities, managing behaviour positively, and helping the child access the curriculum in a meaningful and engaging way.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 personalised support to a KS1 pupil with ASD
Implement strategies to support communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Assist with learning tasks set by the teacher and adapt them where necessary
Build a trusting, nurturing relationship with the pupil
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
Promote independence and confidence in the classroom
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children with ASD or other SEN
Patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills
Ability to build positive relationships and encourage progress
Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference
Previous school or SEN experience is highly desirable
