We're recruiting a Student Success Mentor for a specialist SEN school in Ellesmere Port from January. This role goes beyond academic support. You'll be helping pupils build confidence, develop life skills, strengthen social communication and gain the independence they need to succeed both in and out of school.
The role:
Working 1 to 1 and in small groups with pupils who have a range of additional needs
Supporting social skills, communication, emotional regulation and daily routines
Helping pupils develop independence through simple life skills tasks and structured activities
Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and resilience throughout the school day
Guiding pupils during lessons, transitions, break times and enrichment sessions
Building strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and understood
Working with teachers and the SEN team to adapt activities and support EHCP goals
What we're looking for:
Experience supporting children or young people in schools, SEN, care, youth work or similar
Someone who is warm, patient and able to act as a steady, positive role model
Confidence supporting pupils with ASD, communication needs or SEMH
Strong communication and the ability to motivate children who need consistent encouragement
A genuine passion for helping pupils grow in confidence and independence
