SEN Supply Teacher - Flexible Opportunities
Via Tradewind Recruitment

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Supply Teachers to work across a range of special educational needs settings. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate educators who are looking for flexible work while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with additional learning needs.

As an SEN Supply Teacher, you will work in a variety of educational environments, including special schools, alternative provisions and SEN units within mainstream settings. You may support pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and complex or profound needs. Assignments can range from short-term day-to-day cover to longer-term placements, depending on your availability and preferences.

Your role will involve delivering pre-planned lessons or adapting learning activities to suit individual pupils, managing behaviour positively, and creating a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment. You will work closely with teaching assistants, support staff and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning and to meet pupils' educational and emotional needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging and accessible lessons to pupils with SEN

  • Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs and EHCP targets

  • Managing behaviour using positive and consistent approaches

  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development

  • Working collaboratively with support staff and following school policies

  • Providing feedback to schools on pupil progress and engagement

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experience working with SEN is highly desirable, but applications from mainstream teachers with a strong interest in SEN are also welcomed. Flexibility, resilience and a nurturing approach are essential for success in this role.

In return, Tradewind Recruitment offers competitive daily rates, flexible working patterns, and access to ongoing CPD and training opportunities. You will be supported by a dedicated consultant who understands SEN education and will work closely with you to find roles that suit your skills and availability.
