Science Technician

Full-time | 5 days per week
Secondary Schools across Southwark

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a group of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Southwark. This is a full-time, five-day-per-week role offering stability, variety, and excellent opportunities for professional growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative science department, supporting high-quality teaching and learning in well-resourced laboratories. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring practical science lessons run smoothly, safely, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment and materials for science lessons

  • Supporting teachers during practical experiments where required

  • Ensuring laboratories are safe, organised, and well-maintained

  • Managing stock, chemicals, and equipment in line with health and safety regulations

  • Assisting with demonstrations, displays, and enrichment activities

  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting departmental administration

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working in a school science department or laboratory environment (desirable)

  • Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures in science

  • Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Enjoys working as part of a team in a busy school environment

  • Is committed to supporting inclusive education and student success
