SEN Class Teacher | Northampton
Full-Time Position | Temp-to-Perm and Permanent Roles Available | January 2026 Start

The Role:

As an SEN Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised education tailored to meet the individual needs of each pupil.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, MLD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties

  • Creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment

  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to provide holistic support

  • Using EHCPs and assessment data to inform planning and set realistic yet aspirational targets

  • Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through a child-centred approach

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent)

  • Has experience teaching in an SEN or mainstream setting

  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, creativity, and resilience

  • Understands the importance of routine, structure, and communication for pupils with SEN

  • Is confident managing behaviour positively and adaptively

  • Is open to long-term roles with the potential to become permanent
