SEN Teaching Assistant - Northumberland

Location: Various locations across Northumberland (including Ashington, Blyth, Bedlington, Cramlington, Morpeth, Hexham)

Role Type: Flexible - Full-time & Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant Jobs available

Age Range: Key Stage 1 (KS1) - Key Stage 5 (KS5) - Everything from Primary, Secondary and SEN schools available

Start Date: ASAP & from January 2026

Rate of Pay: £90 to £125 per day

What You'll Need:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASC, SEMH, or complex learning needs, is preferred but not essential.

  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.

  • The ability to work 1:1 or in small groups to support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation.

  • Previous experience in a school setting is advantageous but not essential.

  • Early Career Teachers / Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome to apply.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN in class or in small group interventions.

  • Assisting pupils with tasks according to their EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).

  • Supporting literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum-based learning.
