School HR Manager

A couple of schools in the local area are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable School HR Manager to lead and manage their HR functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HR professional with strong education-sector experience to play a key role in supporting staff and senior leadership teams.

The Role

  • Oversee the full HR function across one or both school sites

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, policies, and procedures

  • Lead on recruitment and safer recruitment, onboarding, and compliance

  • Manage absence, performance management, disciplinaries, and grievances

  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law, safeguarding, and education regulations

  • Advise senior leaders and governors on HR strategy and workforce planning

  • Maintain accurate HR records and liaise with payroll providers as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Recognised HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 or above - essential)

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor, ideally within schools or a public-sector environment

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and education HR processes

  • Confident communicator able to advise senior leaders professionally

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage priorities across multiple settings
