Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming SEN school in Northamptonshire to recruit a Forest School Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a variety of classes within the school's Forest School and outdoor learning provision.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about outdoor education, hands-on learning, and supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs.

The Role

  • Support pupils from different classes during Forest School sessions

  • Encourage engagement, exploration, and learning through outdoor activities

  • Support pupils with a variety of SEN, including learning difficulties, ASD, SEMH, and communication needs

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing outdoor environment

  • Work closely with teachers and Forest School leaders to adapt activities to individual needs

  • Promote confidence, independence, teamwork, and wellbeing through nature-based learning

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN

  • A strong interest in outdoor learning or Forest School education

  • Forest School qualification (Level 1-3) is desirable but not essential

  • Calm, patient, and flexible approach

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
