Support Role - Nurture Class
SEMH / ASC Specialist School

We are seeking a caring, resilient and dedicated Support Practitioner/Teaching Assistant/ Support Worker to work within a nurture class in our specialist SEMH / ASC school, supporting a small group of up to five pupils within a primary-style model.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and who understands the importance of consistency, relationships and emotional regulation in learning.
The Role:
Supporting pupils within a small nurture class of up to 5 children
Working alongside the class teacher to deliver a primary-based curriculum
Providing emotional, behavioural and learning support throughout the school day
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, communication and social skills
Helping to create a calm, predictable and safe learning environment
Implementing nurture-based, trauma-informed and autism-aware strategies
Supporting EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
Working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children with SEMH and/or ASC
Be calm, patient and emotionally resilient
Have strong behaviour support skills using positive and relational approaches
Be confident working with primary-aged learning approaches
Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
