Learning Support Assistant - SEN (LSA)

Secondary School - Tower Hamlets

Start Date: Immediately
Salary: £95 - £105 daily
Hours: Full-time

We are looking for a compassionate, patient and skilled Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to join our team at a thriving secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and thrive in school life.

The successful candidate will provide targeted, personalised support for students with a range of additional needs, working closely with teachers, SENCo and pastoral staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with SEND in accessing the curriculum, both in class and in small group or 1:1 settings

  • Implement and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies

  • Assist students with social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Provide targeted interventions to help students achieve their learning goals

  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning

  • Monitor and report on student progress and contribute to regular reviews

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCo, and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience supporting students with SEND in a school or educational setting

  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, or social and emotional needs

  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meet individual student needs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
