EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Qualified)

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking EYFS Specialist Teaching Assistants with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Teaching and Learning to support primary schools across Sutton and the wider South London area from January 2026.

These full-time roles are ideal for experienced EYFS practitioners who are passionate about early childhood development and confident supporting learning through play in Nursery and Reception settings.

The Role:

As an EYFS Specialist TA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils during their crucial early years, working closely with class teachers and EYFS leads to promote development across the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Responsibilities:

  • Support learning through play in line with the EYFS framework

  • Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions (phonics, communication, early maths)

  • Support children's social, emotional, and personal development

  • Assist with observations, learning journals, and assessments

  • Provide care routines where required, including personal care

  • Support pupils with SEN and additional needs where applicable

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Teaching & Learning (essential)

  • Previous experience working within EYFS (Nursery or Reception)

  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework

  • Confident supporting children aged 3-5

  • Patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Available to work full-time (Monday-Friday) from January 2026
