Year 2 Class Teacher

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Until Easter (with potential for extension)

Location: Leigh, Greater Manchester

Contract: Full-time (5 days a week)

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a passionate educator ready to make a real difference in the lives of Key Stage 1 pupils? A welcoming and vibrant primary school in Leigh is looking for a dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher to join their team immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a bright and enthusiastic class through a pivotal year. While the role is initially scheduled until the Easter break, there is a strong possibility of the contract continuing into the summer term for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach high-quality lessons that align with the Year 2 National Curriculum, ensuring all children make progress.

SATS Preparation: Support pupils in their transition toward end-of-key-stage assessments with a focus on confidence and core skills.

Inclusive Environment: Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and motivated to learn.

Collaboration: Work closely with a supportive KS1 team and dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide the best outcomes for students.

KS1 Expertise: A solid understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and phonics (experience with Read Write Inc. or similar programs is a plus).

Energy and Dedication: Someone who is ready to hit the ground running and build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.

The ideal candidate for this teacher role will:

  • Have qualified teacher status with QTS
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
