Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Various Primary Schools across Wigan Borough

Start Date: Immediate & Future Start Dates available

Contract: Temporary, Long-term, and Permanent opportunities

Pay: £89 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and level)

Are you a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated individual looking to support young learners in Wigan? We are currently seeking Primary Teaching Assistants to join our local school communities. Whether you are an experienced Level 2 or 3 TA or someone looking to start their career in education, we have roles that match your skills.

From supporting Early Years (EYFS) to helping Year 6 pupils prepare for SATS, your role will be vital in creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Classroom Support: Assist class teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom behaviour.

Targeted Interventions: Lead small group sessions in literacy and numeracy to boost pupil progress.

1:1 Support: Provide dedicated assistance to children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) or those with EHCPs.

Nurturing Environment: Support the social and emotional wellbeing of pupils, helping them build confidence and resilience.

Resource Prep: Help prepare learning materials and creative classroom displays.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications: Ideally Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). We also welcome applications from graduates or those with relevant experience.

Experience: Previous experience working with children (in schools, sports coaching, or youth work) is highly desirable.

Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Reliability: A proactive "can-do" attitude and a commitment to the school community.

Flexibility: Choose between full-time, part-time, or day-to-day supply work to suit your lifestyle.

Growth: Access to ongoing professional development (CPD) and training opportunities.

Community: Work in friendly, welcoming schools with supportive leadership teams.
