English Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and dedicated full time English Teacher to join our client, a dynamic 11-16 secondary school in Southwark, covering Key Stage 3 & 4. This is a maternity cover, starting February and paid on the London MPS.

As an English Teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4.
• Plan and teach creative, differentiated lessons that inspire pupils.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress to secure sustained achievement.
• Contribute positively to the English department and wider school community.
• Maintain excellent behaviour for learning in the classroom.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about English and committed to raising achievement.
• Has excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Builds positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Is adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic.
• Has strong communication skills and a reflective approach to teaching.

Candidates should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A good honours degree in English, Education, or a related subject.
• Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 & 4 (desirable but not essential for the right candidate).
