Early Years Teaching Assistant

Start Date: February 2026

Duration: Full-time until July 2026 (Summer Term)

Pay Rate: £90 - £99 per day

Location: Leigh(WN7)

A vibrant and friendly primary school in Leigh is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their reception team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a bubbly cohort of early learners during a crucial stage of their development.

The Role

Working within a busy Reception class, you will support the Class Teacher in delivering a play-based curriculum that focuses on the Prime and Specific areas of the EYFS. Your goal will be to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels confident to explore.

Key Responsibilities:

EYFS Support: Assist with the delivery of phonics (knowledge of Little Wandle or Read Write Inc is a plus), early literacy, and numeracy.

Continuous Provision: Support indoor and outdoor learning through play-based activities.

Observations: Help track pupil progress using digital platforms (such as Tapestry) or learning journals.

Inclusion: Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who may need extra support with speech, language, or social skills.

What We're Looking For-

Experience: Previous experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.

Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained

You must have the legal right to work in the UK
