Unqualified History Teacher - Secondary School
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
Pay: £100-£170 per day (dependent on experience and school support)

Would you like to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive secondary school in Wellingborough?

We are working closely with secondary schools across Wellingborough who are seeking committed and motivated Unqualified History Teachers to join their teams. This role is ideal for History graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are looking to develop their classroom skills while exploring future teacher training routes.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

  • Encourage curiosity, discussion and critical thinking through historical enquiry

  • Create a positive, well-managed and inclusive learning environment

  • Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning needs

  • Collaborate with experienced teaching staff and mentors

  • Take part in training, CPD and wider school life

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in History or a related subject, or strong subject knowledge

  • Experience working with young people in any capacity (desirable but not essential)

  • Confident, organised and approachable

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

  • A genuine passion for History and education

  • Ideal for those considering PGCE, SCITT or apprenticeship teacher training routes

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
