A very small and nurturing specialist SEN school is seeking a positive, reliable role model to mentor and support primary-aged pupils with Autism. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for someone passionate about making a long-term difference in children's lives.
The role is based in a small classroom supporting pupils aged 6, 7 and 8, with a strong focus on emotional development, communication, and positive behaviour. The school provides a calm, structured environment and places great value on consistency and relationships.
The Role:
Support and mentor pupils with Autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Help pupils engage with learning through structure, encouragement and routine
Act as a positive role model, promoting social skills and emotional regulation
Support behaviour for learning using a calm, patient and proactive approach
Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support individual needs
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with Autism or SEN (school or care setting)
Calm, patient and consistent approach
A positive role model who can build trust and strong relationships
Confident supporting young children with communication and social needs
Committed to a long-term role (temp to perm)
