Science Technician - Secondary School

Location: Ealing

Science education is a vital part of the secondary curriculum, helping students develop curiosity, practical skills, and scientific understanding. We are recruiting a dedicated Science Technician to support high-quality teaching and learning within a secondary school environment.

The Role

This position plays an essential part in the smooth running of the science department. You will ensure that lessons are well resourced, laboratories are safe, and staff are supported with practical activities across the sciences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment and materials for practical science lessons
  • Support teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organised laboratory spaces
  • Manage stock levels, chemicals, and equipment
  • Carry out routine safety checks and basic maintenance
  • Follow health and safety and safeguarding procedures
  • Provide technical support to teaching staff when required

Person Specification

  • Science-related qualification or relevant experience preferred
  • Strong organisational and practical skills

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Working Hours

  • Full-time role
  • Monday to Friday, during standard school hours
