Job Description

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant plays a vital role supporting class teachers and enhancing pupil learning outcomes in primary schools throughout Bolton and Bury.

Role responsibilities:

  • Support classroom activities under teacher guidance

  • Assist pupils with learning tasks and help maintain focus

  • Supervise groups during lessons, playtimes, and transitions

  • Prepare and organise resources for learning activities

  • Observe pupil progress and share feedback with class teachers

  • Support whole-class behaviour management

Key skills & requirements:

  • Experience or qualification at Level 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent)

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Patience, initiative, and confidence with young learners

  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
