Food Technician - Full Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Merton

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Food Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school environment in the London Borough of Merton. This is a full-time, 5-day per week role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting high-quality food education and keen to grow within a school setting.

The Role:
As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Food Technology department, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly, safely, and effectively. You will work closely with teaching staff and students, contributing to a positive and engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked food technology area

  • Supporting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations

  • Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment

  • Assisting with risk assessments and safe working practices

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a Food Technician (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills

  • A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to work

  • The ability to work well as part of a team within a school environment
