Food Technician - Full Time (5 Days per Week)
Location: Secondary Schools across Merton
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Food Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school environment in the London Borough of Merton. This is a full-time, 5-day per week role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting high-quality food education and keen to grow within a school setting.
The Role:
As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Food Technology department, ensuring practical lessons run smoothly, safely, and effectively. You will work closely with teaching staff and students, contributing to a positive and engaging learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons
Ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked food technology area
Supporting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations
Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
Assisting with risk assessments and safe working practices
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working as a Food Technician (essential)
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to work
The ability to work well as part of a team within a school environment
