Pastoral Coordinator
Location: Secondary School, London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only (plus inset days)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and highly organised Pastoral Coordinator to join our thriving and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is a pivotal role within our pastoral team, supporting students' wellbeing, behaviour and personal development to ensure they are able to thrive both academically and socially.
The successful candidate will work closely with Heads of Year, the safeguarding team, senior leaders, families and external agencies to provide targeted pastoral support and intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on day-to-day pastoral support for a designated year group
Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and wellbeing, implementing appropriate interventions
Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs
Work closely with families to build positive relationships and promote student success
Coordinate and track pastoral interventions, maintaining accurate records
Contribute to safeguarding processes and attend multi-agency meetings where required
Promote a positive school culture built on high expectations, respect and inclusion
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people in a secondary school or similar setting
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Resilience, empathy and a solution-focused approach
Experience within Tower Hamlets or similar inner-London contexts would be advantageous.
