The Opportunity

Are you an expert in Positive Behaviour Management? We are seeking a resilient SEN Teacher (Qualified or Unqualified) to join a specialised Alternative Provision in Colne. This role focuses on leading a Class 6 SEN group, specifically designed for students who require a Nurture Group approach due to complex needs.

The Role & Technical Requirements

As the lead educator for this small cohort, you will be responsible for the delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), ASC (Autism), and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • EHCP Management: Implementing and tracking progress against specific Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) goals.

  • Targeted Intervention: Delivering literacy and numeracy interventions for students with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties).

  • Safeguarding: Maintaining a "safety-first" environment in line with Ofsted and school-specific DBS and compliance standards.

  • De-escalation: Utilising Positive Behaviour Management techniques to support students during periods of dysregulation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in an Alternative Provision, PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), or SEMH school.

  • Skills: Expertise in ASC/ADHD Support and the ability to differentiate lessons for diverse learning levels.

  • Qualifications: While QTS/QTLS is preferred, we welcome applications from Unqualified SEN Teachers with significant frontline experience in specialist settings.

  • Resilience: A "solutions-focused" mentor capable of managing the unique challenges of a Class 6 SEN environment.

Why This Role?

This is a Temp-to-Perm position, offering you a unique "working interview" period to ensure the school's culture aligns with your teaching style before transitioning to a permanent contract. You will benefit from small class sizes, allowing for genuine 1:1 student-teacher engagement.
